Emily is a 40+ Fat Loss, Strength & Nervous System Mentor — and the creator of the Calm, Strong, Lean Method™ for women over 40.

For over 16 years she has guided women back into a body they love by addressing the root cause most programs miss: a dysregulated nervous system driving elevated cortisol, disrupted hormones, and the fat-storing cycle that diet and willpower alone can never break.

Emily is a certified holistic health coach, yoga and mindfulness teacher, Cert IV fitness instructor, author and documentary filmmaker. Her Calm, Strong, Lean Method™ weaves together nervous system regulation, strategic strength training, evidence-based nutrition, and breathwork practices that make results actually stick — for good.

She hosts transformational retreats around the world, supports thousands of women globally through her online programs, and her teachings have been featured on international wellbeing platforms Gaia and DailyOM. One of her retreats was also featured on Channel 9’s Getaway. Her spaces are nurturing, welcoming, and free of diet-culture shame — because sustainable results come from working with your body, not against it.

EMILY'S STORY

I know what it feels like to do everything right — and still feel like your body is working against you.

For years, I was the woman who ticked every box. I trained consistently. I ate well. I was a yoga teacher, a health coach — someone who was supposed to know how this worked. And from the outside, I looked like I had it together.

But I was exhausted in a way sleep couldn’t fix. I was carrying excess fat, constantly bloated, fatigued and grumpy — no matter how clean I ate or how much I exercised. I’d lie in bed wired and wide awake at 3am. My mood could turn without warning. I was drinking more wine than I wanted to — not because I was reckless, but because it was the only thing that switched my nervous system off at the end of the day.

I was working harder than ever. And my body was holding on tighter than ever.

“Maybe this is just what ageing looks like. Maybe I need to accept it.”

That thought haunted me. And I know it haunts you too — because I hear it from almost every woman who finds her way to me.

What I didn’t understand then — and what took years of training, lived experience, and deep research to finally piece together — was that my body wasn’t broken. It was dysregulated. My nervous system was stuck in a constant low-grade state of fight-or-flight. Cortisol was elevated. My body was clinging to fat as a survival strategy. And every intense workout, every restriction, every push to do more was making it worse.

The missing piece wasn’t more discipline. It wasn’t a better meal plan. It was safety. When I finally began working with my nervous system instead of around it — pairing regulation practices with strategic strength training and intelligent nutrition — everything shifted. The weight started moving. My sleep deepened. The anxiety that had been humming in the background for years began to quiet.

I felt, for the first time in a long time, like myself again.

That’s why I built the Calm, Strong, Lean Method™.

Karma Being Yoga Retreats – Terms & Conditions

By booking a Karma Being Yoga Retreat, you agree to the following terms and conditions.

1. Booking & Deposit
A 25% deposit is required to secure your place.

Your deposit is fully refundable if you cancel at least 2 months prior to the retreat start date.

Cancellations made within 2 months of the retreat start date are non-refundable.

2. Balance Payment
The remaining balance is due 2 months prior to the retreat start date.

If the balance is not received by this date, your booking may be cancelled and your deposit forfeited.

3. Cancellations & Refunds
Your Cancellation:

More than 2 months before retreat: Full refund of deposit and any balance paid.

Less than 2 months before retreat: No refund.

Our Cancellation:

In the unlikely event that Karma Being must cancel the retreat, you will receive a full refund of all amounts paid.

We are not responsible for any additional costs you may incur, such as flights or other travel arrangements.

4. Travel Insurance
We strongly recommend that you take out comprehensive travel insurance at the time of booking.

This should cover trip cancellation, medical expenses, personal liability, and loss of belongings.

You are fully responsible for arranging your own travel insurance.

5. Media Consent
Photographs and/or videos may be taken during the retreat for marketing and promotional purposes.

By booking, you give consent for your image to be used unless you advise us otherwise in writing before the retreat begins.

6. Force Majeure / Events Beyond Our Control
Sometimes events occur that are beyond our reasonable control (e.g., natural disasters, pandemics, political instability, or travel restrictions).

If such an event prevents the retreat from going ahead, we will do our best to offer you a transfer to a future retreat or a full refund.

7. Assumption of Risk & Responsibility
You acknowledge that participation in yoga, excursions, and other retreat activities is voluntary and at your own risk.

You are responsible for ensuring you are medically and physically fit to participate.

Please inform us of any relevant medical conditions before the retreat.
